Improved Spreadsheet Importing

Lyza has released improvements to the way spreadsheets are imported. You can now specify more robust import ranges.

The Range Offset allows you to choose an import mode where you can select from the following:

Dynamic - you select the top left starting point, and Lyza determines the rows and columns
Selected Columns - you select and exclude desired columns
Static Range - you select a single, rectangular range of data

You can also chose between two stopping criteria - either stopping at the first blank row or at the bottom of the spreadsheet. The stopping criteria options are only available when the Dynamic or Selected Columns options are selected. In Static Range imports, fully blank records will not be imported nor will they be handled as dropped records.

Dataset Profiling

You can now create and export data profiles on a) any imported dataset, or b) any transform, summary, merge or append output dataset. You can simply right click on the node within your workbook, and select the Profile option from the pop-up menu.

A Summary and Column List will appear in the left hand pane of the Dataset Profile dialogue window. The first column will be profiled by default and will appear in the right hand pane of the dialogue. You can select from the available list of columns on the left to view the statistics and distribution of each column.

In the upper left of the Data Profile dialogue, there is an option to export to Excel. The Summary, Column List, and every Column Profile will each occupy their own sheet or tab.
